OCTOBER TREE SEEDS

THIS IS A SELF DIRECTED VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY. YOU WILL COLLECT TREE SEEDS ON YOUR OWN AND DROP THEM OFF AT ONE OF SEVERAL DROP OFF LOCATIONS.

Seeking volunteers to collect tree seeds for a North Carolina native tree nursery. We Plant it Forward is partnering with Project Pando to collect 100,000 native tree seeds this year. Project Pando is a volunteer run tree nursery that is growing NC native trees from seed. When these tree seeds have grown enough, they will be given out to the community for free. This is a self directed volunteer opportunity for the month of October and any day of the year. You can gather tree seeds that have fallen to the ground or seeds that are ready to be picked from the tree. When you sign up you will get detailed information on how to collect native tree seeds. This is a great project for the family, school aged children, college students and adults who want to help preserve and restore our natural tree canopy.
