September Tree Seed Collection Learn and Serve

  • Lake Crabtree County Park 1400 Aviation Parkway Morrisville, NC, 27560 United States (map)

There is still space to volunteer

Volunteers will collect native tree seeds! This volunteer activity is a 9/11 Day of Service in partnership with Activate Good.9/11 Day of Service is rooted in honoring the memory of those we lost on September 11, 2001. By transforming this day of tragedy into a day of service, we celebrate the resilience of our communities and the strength that arises from unity.” ~ https://activategood.org/9-11-service-remembrance/

The native tree seeds we collect will be donated to Project Pando and Living Soil Tree Farm, local tree nurseries. These nurseries will donate back some of the grown tree seedlings for We Plant it Forward to give out and plant to help increase our community's native tree canopy.

This is a great group volunteer activity for a local small business.

Space is limited so sign up at this link today at this link:

This Learn and Serve project includes a facilitated discussion collecting native tree seeds. At the beginning of each Learn and Serve project, volunteers are asked to participate in discussion, facilitated by Activate Good Project Leaders, We Plant it Forward staff and our community partner where we are collecting tree seeds! After project tasks are completed, there will be space to reflect. Soon afterwards, Activate Good will send everyone a survey and resources to take further action!
