Raleigh Earth Day and
Arbor Day Celebration
This fun-filled festival is a call to celebrate trees and create a sense of community purpose toward the preservation and restoration of the natural environment.
Who we are
We are building a grassroots network that works together to restore and preserve the natural environment, and turn tree-planting into a common, household activity.
What we do
Make a difference—volunteer, partner, or sponsor! Help plant trees, distribute seedlings, support events, or assist behind the scenes with education, outreach, and fundraising.
Get involved
At We Plant it Forward, nature brings us together and guides our work. By observing nature, we seek to understand how best to be stewards of the Earth and preserve the environment.
Together, we are transforming our landscape. This incredible milestone represents the trees We Plant it Forward has given away and planted—a testament to our shared commitment to preserving and restoring our native tree canopy!

Our mission
We Plant it Forward preserves and restores the natural environment of North Carolina for the benefit of future generations through hands-on activities, community engagement, and environmental education, bringing wellbeing to all life.
2,272 students reached
We provide a hands-on approach to environmental education. We take students out into nature, and have videos available for virtual learning.
11,547 trees given away
Year round we give out native, bare root tree seedlings. Interested in hosting a giveaway? Partner with us to have an event in your community.
12 seed collection events

2,433 trees planted
Are you looking to reforest a plot of land, plant trees in your neighborhood, school, or a local park? We can help organize your planting, gather the needed materials, and provide onsite guidance.
216 rain barrels made
At our rain barrel workshops, attendees are guided in building their own 55-gallon rain barrels to take home and use for at-home water conservation efforts.
